"That's right," Aiden said quietly, nodding firmly at him and squeezing his wrists. Then he eased up, wrapping his arms around Wren again in a tight hug, kissing his brow.
"It'll be okay. I've got you," he murmured, sighing. "I'll take care of you, bird." Those stormy eyes focused on Wren's darker ones and held his gaze for a moment and then Aiden's lips curled in just the faintest, taciturn hint of a smile.
"Now let's go find a real place to sleep, okay? And get it all fixed up for us. Somewhere safe."
