"I'm here," he promised again quietly. This was more than he'd talked all at once in months... hell, since he and Wren had been forcibly separated before. Aiden was strictly short little phrases and blunt, unglamorous sentences; however, he had missed the boy enough to be chatty. Well, chatty might've been stretching it, but more expressive than he usually was.
"Not leaving you, swear," he murmured. He nuzzled him lightly, then just held him, soothing as he could be, rubbing his back with the flat of one large hand.
"Want to go somewhere?" he asked into the dark hair. "Show me where you sleep?"
