“Never said I was too good not to go crazy, just that I’m not going crazy currently.” Zach pointed out with a bit of a half-smile. No, he had had his days in which he felt like he might be losing his mind, but today wasn’t one of them – as surprising as that may be. He didn’t make a habit of talking about his problems with strangers; actually he hadn’t made a habit of talking about his problems since he lost the one person who he could always trust to listen. Gordy. His brother had always listened without judgment and had been pretty damn good at the advice giving as well. I need to stop thinking about him. Because thoughts of Gordy was really just making this whole day that much harder.
Zach just pulled a face at that reply. “So, you still know all that stuff is in there.” He pointed out. Granted he had eaten some pretty questionable things while in the service, that didn’t mean he was going to willingly subject himself to that stuff if didn’t absolutely need to. “Don’t worry, you can continue to be oblivious to how awful that stuff is.” After all it wasn’t like he didn’t have his own unhealthy habits, his just didn’t involve substances made out of pigskins and the like.
“You’re not wrong on the overusing portion of that statement,” he replied honestly. “Although at least you didn’t throw ‘Whatever’ in there at some point, that would have been overkill.” Zach didn’t necessarily have the best of vocabularies so it wasn’t like he really could judge anyone else's. He just chuckled at her reply, partly because with the sort of mood he was in Zach was fairly certain he wasn’t exactly a pleasure to be around. “For the record I still don’t like jello, but vodka’s an old friend.” It wasn’t his first choice for drinking purposes, but it also wasn’t his last choice either.
