Pulling a face that clearly read ‘Ewww!’ April supposed George had a point, but it wasn’t like she did it on purpose. “Trust me I don’t want to know, I just want you to know that I don’t want to know. Plus it’s not like you guys have great filters or anything,” she pointed out. George had already managed to make a couple brain bleach requiring comments. Though she wasn’t holding that against the other girl. “But that’s okay, I’ll just figure out a way to get you back.”
The world was entirely different, but it tickled April that George felt some kind of need to keep up some of societies old niceties. Maybe there was hope that one day things would find normal again? Although in all honesty she kind of enjoyed the way things were, minus the zombies. Things weren’t really so bad if you blocked that part out of things, she had more freedom to be herself now, because nobody really cared about the quirky girl when the world was falling apart. “So you’re a one woman army attempting to uphold some of societies old habits, huh?”
April didn’t linger too long on the sidewalk, especially not when George began moving down the street. She hadn’t gone out into Ossining much while she had been hauled up in the warehouse with the dead guy, but she had been out enough to know that there were a few shops down this way, ones that might have what George was looking for. “I don’t think it will, there’s a couple clothing stores down this way.” She just hoped they reached the stores before they drew unwanted guests.
About ten minutes passed before they arrived at the first store April knew of, the whole street looked deserted, so she could only hope the store was as well. “Want to head inside?” After all this was George’s shopping adventure, she was just along for the ride and to give advice as best she could.
