Getting out of Sing Sing a second time in one week was probably the one thing George had looked forward to in awhile. Couple the second trip out with the unseasonably warm whether they’d been having and life was good by her standards lately. Made the itch under her skin to ditch April easier to ignore. Besides, she figured she could use her help to figure out what the heck to wear for her date at the end of the month. She was positive ages had passed she she’d last actually gave her wardrobe any sort of consideration, and any new additions could really benefit from another girl’s opinion. Backpack on her shoulder for any presents she may find, George walked down the street as they entered the downtown area. Hopefully something would be left worth finding. Better would be if anything they came across could fulfill either girl’s gift list. It helped that she actually had a few hints of things to look for when it came to her boyfriend. And now that she had Nick’s favorite color to work with she was confident she could finish it off without too much trouble. The only exception being Leah and Marigold. That situation was one George still wasn’t quite sure how to handle. Was she expected to give either of them presents? Or was her slowly progressing adjustment to the changing state of her family enough of a gift? That was probably not the way to think about it, but she wasn’t entirely sure how else to handle things. She was doing what she could and she’d agreed to camp out under the Christmas tree with Marigold, that had to account for something, right? “How does that store look as a place to start?” she asked pointing to a store front that didn’t look all smashed to hell or entirely destroyed by previous looters. From the looks of things, it was one of those mom and pop corner stores. Probably wouldn’t satisfy their clothing search, but it should at least have some earbuds or something that April might be looking for. |
