Nick didn’t respond, she simply lifted an eyebrow as if to say ‘Really?’. She didn’t know the medic Jax was talking about, not really, so what did she know. Plus Jax was good company, even if she liked to give him a hard time and tell him otherwise. If he wasn’t good company she wouldn’t have been here, because not even she was desperate enough for companionship that she would spend time with someone she disliked.
“If you’re okay with it, I guess I am as well,” After all Jax wasn’t really all that weird. More so he was just animated, which actually made for an amusing time whenever she was around him. Plus weird was better than a lot of other things, or at least she thought so. “A weird friend is better than a bitchy friend.” She added. Although she wasn’t certain that guys even got bitchy, more like moody or plain mean, probably.
There was mild relief in the fact that Jax wasn’t acknowledging her obvious embarrassment over her confession. Although it was also obvious he wasn’t going to stop talking about this particular subject, either. “Well, I could always say I just don’t want to be kissed,” she pointed out before pulling a face. “But that would probably be a lie. Also, you’d just be willing to kiss me because your desperate for any kind of female attention.” Or at least that’s what she was going to tell herself. Wasn’t like Jax had many options for companionship as it was. “Oh how romantic, I have to ask to be kissed…” Apparently she couldn’t turn off the sarcasm, even when she probably should have. Wanting to occupy herself for a moment, she took the offered bottle, though she didn’t drink from it.
