“Well, you’ve got time,” Nick had no doubts that sooner or later Jax would do something that would earn him a reputation. “Zach? He’s one of the medics, right?” If memory was serving her correctly he was also Maddie’s older brother, which meant he couldn’t possibility think Jax was anymore of a menace than his own sister was. “This place is totally fond of planning party’s, maybe we should convince them that we deserve a Prom,” she suggested this with a bit of an amused grin. After all it wasn’t like Sing Sing was crawling with teenagers, but the idea of having one normal teenage experience was an appealing one, even if it was also amusing.
Normally she had no issue with talking about things like this, so Nick couldn’t figure out why she felt so awkward at that moment. Maybe it was the whiskey in her system or the fact that they were discussing something she had no physical knowledge of that bothered her. “Wait, you think you’re a normal guy?” Teasing Jax at least got the attention off of her for a moment, even if really she was the only person that felt like she was an ant under a magnifying glass at that moment. “Not sure a person can be lucky if they’ve never been kissed,” the words sort of just tumbled out of her mouth before her brain had registered them, but when she did realize she had said that aloud Nick froze like a deer caught in headlights. Her eyes were wide and she was hoping that maybe Jax hadn’t heard what she said, after all they had both drank quite a bit….maybe his attention span was shot.
“You’re the one who mentioned it, so clearly you’re the only person who knows why you mentioned that,” She was attempting to move on quickly from her slip up, which would probably be easier if they weren’t still talking about making out. “And clearly you just pointed out it was a personal story, so mystery solved and now time for a new topic.” Her words were rushed and it was still very clear by the way she fidgeted with the hem on the blanket that was wrapped around her that she was still extremely frazzled by her earlier slip up. Embarrassed was probably a better word than frazzled, yeah, Nick was pretty damn embarrassed currently – so mush so that she wondered if the floor of the guard tower would swallow her up.
