"People who have a low opinion of teenagers forgot what it's like to be one," Jax opined. He firmly believed that. There were so many people who treated people under the age of twenty five or so like a disease, and there wasn't any reason for it. Maybe they were just jealous because they were old and were facing their own mortality or whatever. And he didn't deliberately try to do mean things; it was just that he got bored, and that boredom seemed to manifest itself in events that adults considered troublesome. It just happened.
"Yep, yep," he agreed cheerfully about getting his point across. That was, indeed, what mattered, even when it came to something as silly as sticking one's tongue out. He'd once had a friend who'd liked to say don't stick that thing out unless you're gonna use it, which could be awkward because he said it to anyone, guys and girls alike. No need to dwell on the past, even though that was easier said than done sometimes, he thought.
Jax's head swiveled around quickly so he could stare at her when she asked if he'd asked her to hang out just so he could get her drunk and make out. "No, I did not," he said, trying to form a haughty expression and having trouble holding it. He was in too good of a mood to pretend to be annoyed, actually. "I thought getting drunk would be fun. But seriously, no guy will turn down making out unless he has a girlfriend or if the girl in question is gross or ugly or something. Which you're not," he added, wanting to make sure that was clarified. It never would have occurred to him that Nick might be completely untouched in that sense, because everybody'd made out a time or two. Right? He shrugged at her assessment of some people being awful kissers. "I guess," he said. "Have you met a lot of awful kissers? I can only remember one. Kelly Evans. Kissing that girl was like kissing..." He paused, furrowing his brow in thought. "...a water glass? Lots of, like, saliva." Ew. Not a happy thought even now.
