With a slow kind of mischievous grin, Nick remarked. “Maybe it is,” she agreed conversationally. “Hopefully you keep some of your senses so you don’t’ start wandering around the compound pantless or anything,” Because that would just be embarrassing. Although something told her Jax really wouldn’t be bothered in that were to happen, he didn’t strike her as the easily embarrassed type. “Grandparents have the oddest names for things,” she remarked with a half-smile. Her grandpa had always had the best stories, even if half the words she hadn’t understood because they were ones only old people seemed to use. Sometimes she wished she was back on her grandpa’s porch listening to him tell stories about mining and such, but she was grateful he had passed before the outbreak had happened.
“Now do you have to be drunk to do these tricks?” She asked curiously. Although the liquor was doing a fairly good job of warming her up, Nick still found herself pulling one of the blankets up around her shoulders. Quirking an eyebrow, she wondering just exactly ‘not much’ really meant. It wasn’t like she had been drunk that many times in her life, but it had happened at least once or twice. “So what you’ve had a sip here and there?” Now she was just egging him on, but she kind of thought he would have done the same if the roles were reversed. “Record? So you actually have to finish one drink then?” Nick could be a smartass when she wanted to be, especially when she had a little bit of liquor in her system.
Well, he didn’t cough that time, which probably helped to mend whatever portion of his male pride had been dinged earlier. Nick reached out for the bottle again once he was finished. “So if you’ve drank before do you know any good drinking games?” As she waited for his answer she took another drink of Whiskey. At this rate they would probably finish the bottle, but that was kind of the point, wasn’t it?
