Jax didn't know Nick well enough yet to know what might be out of character for her. For his part, he was likely to try just about anything, and having his first real drunken episode sounded great. He didn't even see fit to worry that it might make him sick and he might be miserable for hours or anything like that. Jax was definitely a guy who lived in the moment, and he didn't often think of consequences for anything he might do. He'd always been like that.
Jax didn't really have a plan. If something occurred to him, he'd suggest it, but he'd be just as happy to sit around and drink the entire bottle of whiskey with Nick as they holed up in the guard tower. "Oh, yeah," he replied when she told him she knew how to make moonshine. Of course she would have drank before, maybe even to excess. That was so cool.
He grinned lopsidedly at her when she asked if he'd drank before. "Not much," he admitted. "So I figure I better start now, so I can catch up with people like you." He reached for the bottle when she handed it back in his direction and took a deep swig as if to punctuate that statement. Coughing, he lowered the bottle, luckily managing not to spew any of it out; yeah, maybe he'd overdone it a little with that mouthful. "Good stuff!" he exclaimed, setting the bottle down between them. It burned all the way down to his stomach, an interesting sensation for someone who wasn't used to it.
