As sad as it was, many families were more or less torn apart these days. Marga no less missed her parents, but her mind was usually filled with other things these days. "It's alright. You couldn't have known," she replied with a sad half-smile.
One hundred people in such a large space. Compared to Carnegie Hall and the space issues, this place was like a dream. True, there were more people piling in, but it wasn't nearly as crowded as the place she'd come from. "It's reassuring to know that safe havens are there for each other if one falls."
Marga's smile widened when Danny laughed. Her joke had been a bit cliche, but she was proud to have gotten what sounded like genuine amusement. She followed in his footsteps, taking care not to trip over anyone in her haste to keep from getting lost in the crowd. When they reached Danny's family's makeshift camp in a corner of the room, Marga had to let out a breath of relief. The area looked comfortable, and it was in a choice location near a wall, a far better place than the center of room, where she used to have to sleep.
She raised a questioning eyebrow when Danny mentioned someone named Evan. "Evan, Georgie, Lukas... your siblings, I assume?" So many new names and faces she would have to learn. It was overwhelming, almost enough to make her completely forget about the events of an hour ago. Nodding, Marga began to unload her belongings, claiming a small area near where Danny had indicated this Lukas person's things were. Out of habit, the woman kept her sniper rifle across her shoulders, just in case whoever was in charge here called the Immunes to assemble somewhere.
"Is any of your family Immune?" She asked suddenly, unable to cease her curiosity.
