"Yeah, guess not," Jax said of not knowing if he became a zombie. He hoped the infected weren't sentient, because that would be super creepy. "I hope they don't." He didn't even want to think about how much that would suck, wandering around and eating brains and entrails and knowing that you used to be a person with dreams and desires and feelings. Ugh, no, not going there, especially considering his mom had probably turned.
"I can pass on the apocalypse films for now," Jax said, inclined to be amenable. If he wasn't, he might not end up having company for a movie. "Nothing wrong with liking lighter stuff." He just shrugged off her question of if he was kidding about baseball being boring. He just didn't like it, and that was all there was to it. But hey, everyone was different. That was what kept life interesting.
"Just hang with me, and I'll protect you from evil clowns," he joked, winking at her. When she picked a movie, he took the case from her and bounded up from the couch to put it into the DVD player. "Yeah, this'll be great," he said, getting everything set up, the sound on and the movie started. "Only thing better would be if there was popcorn." He resumed his place on the couch, lying down again with his knees propped up, taking up about half the space and leaving plenty of room for Nick. He could totally roll with spending the rest of the afternoon this way.
