“Why is it that guys always think scars are awesome?” Nick truly wanted to know this. Every single guy she had ever known with a scar had a tendency to show it off like it was some kind of war prize. A brand proving their manhood or something, she just found it amusing. “Good luck finding a hammer big enough to do that,” she could admit the thought was amusing, though she would stay safely behind the walls. After all that’s what she had decided to do after her conversation with Rae, stay here where it was safe and she had people who cared about her.
“So you’re a movie snob, huh?” She quirked an eyebrow as she asked this, wondering if he realized everything would be retro pretty soon. “To each their own I guess, I mean I think you’re missing out by being a snob to retro movies, but I’m not going to convince you they’re great or anything.” Because everyone was allowed an opinion, even if it wasn’t one she agreed with.
Nodding her head, Nick smiled slightly. “Yeah, I mean I think it’s a right of passage or something.” At least it seemed like every kid she knew had grown up watching Disney movies. She rolled her eyes at his reply, but couldn’t hide the smirk that appeared right before she spoke. “Don’t you mean guys are programmed to think about sex?” Nick sometimes lacked a filter and growing up with three brothers had kind of made her less prudish about conversations of this nature. “Right. Something is better than nothing, especially when you’re living in the end of the world and all.” Wasn’t like there were a whole lot of things that teenagers could entertain themselves with. Nick tried not to think about what she would be doing if the world hadn’t gone to hell. She’d probably be in her first year of college, probably.
