"Scars are awesome," Jax said, flexing his bicep a little to make it stand out more before he let his sleeve fall down. Yeah, okay, getting chewed on by a zombie wasn't as awesome as it would've been if he'd gotten a knife scar or a bullet wound like some action hero guy in a movie, but it was a scar. And he hadn't died, which was another bonus. Sometimes, late at night when he was alone, he thought about what it would be like to die. Would it be scary? Would you know what had happened to you when you woke up on the other side? Was there an 'other side'? He always ended up freaking himself out when he did that. It was a lot easier to just bluff his way along and act like he'd never considered that he could die, pffft. "And zombies aren't. They might be okay if I had a giant hammer and could play Whack-A-Mole with them or something."
Jax shrugged one shoulder and then the other at her argument about pre-1990s era movies. "I just don't like 'em nearly as much as movies made after that," he said. "Everything in 'em looks really retro, and not in a good way." Just his opinion, and everyone had one, right?
"Yeah, I guess I did," he said of watching Disney movies when he'd been a kid. "I think everyone did." That didn't mean he wanted to watch a bunch of them now, although he probably would if that was what other people wanted to watch. Jax snickered at her comment. "C'mon. Guys are programmed to think about boobs. Unless, like, they're the kind of guys who like other dudes, and then I guess they'd think about--. Yeah." He caught himself at that; Jax might not have a ton of social graces, but even he would hesitate to say the word cock, or dick or whatever in front of a girl he'd just met. "Anyway. Rom-coms wouldn't be my top pick, but it's better than doing nothing, right?" Plus, sometimes there were people banging in those movies. Better PG-13 rated porn than no porn, said his testosterone-laden brain.
