Of all the places inside of Sing Sing's walls, the rec room was a place Nick didn't spend that much time in. Her only reason for every going there was for movies, and it had been a couple of weeks since anyone had been in the mood or had the time to have any kind of movie marathon. She was seeking out company though, or at least the chance to have another person around. Her talk with Rae the day before had helped, at least her thoughts were out in the open - but she knew it might take her some time for what had been said to truly sink in.
As she approached the rec room, Nick was starting to think it might have been a bad decision. Someone sounded like they might be killing a cat in there....or did that person think that what they were doing could be considered singing? Standing just inside the doorway for a moment, she watched the kid - the new one just let out of quarantine - fiddle with the lights and only moved when he dropped the cover, her reflexes quick enough to grab it before it hit the ground.
"Careful, these things aren't just lying around," Nick held the cover back up to the guy as she spoke. Okay, so maybe they had about a million of these in storage, he didn't need to know that. "Also, I think the rest of the compound would agree with me when I say you should keep your singing to the shower only," where nobody's hearing would be in danger of being damaged.
Moving to sit on the arm of the couch, Nick wondered if she should offer help in putting the light cover back on. But really she probably wouldn't be all that much help, even standing on the couch she wouldn't be able to reach the ceiling. "So, is there a reason you're taking the cover off of the lights?"
