WHO Nick and Rae
WHAT Talking and things.
WHERE Rae's apartment
WHEN November 14th, 2019; Evening.
RATING Low
Something had to be done about her mood, it wasn't like her to be depressed like this and she was beginning to get irritated with herself - which only made her wonder who else might be getting irritated with her moodiness. Nick knew she had her reasons for her mood, namely loneliness, still, that wasn't a good excuse, was it? Everyone got lonely, she wasn't an island onto herself in that respect. But how come it felt like she was the only person around this place that allowed it to change her moods? Her mind circled back around to thoughts from earlier, thoughts of going missing, of being forgotten, and yeah, of leaving. Did she want to leave? Isn't that what you thought about at the wall? There was that little voice again, the one from earlier, the one that had made it seem so easy to just slip away unnoticed. But would her absence really go unnoticed? Someone would notice her gone, wouldn't they? Probably. Rae would notice! She couldn't argue with the little voice this time. Rae would notice. She might be the only person, especially if Benjamin did what he had been talking about doing for days now, but one person counted for something, right? Flipping the book she had picked up from the library early shut, Nick set it aside and stared at the celling of her cell for a long moment. Holding all of this in wasn't doing her any good. All it was doing was turning her into a miserable person to be around, so much so that even her own brother was contemplating leaving. Okay, he wanted to leave to find Levi and Jacob, but it felt like he was leaving because of her. Heaving a sigh, Nick swung her legs over the edge of her bed. "You need to talk to someone," she muttered to herself as she slid her feet into her boots. Who was she supposed to talk to about this though? Rae? It didn't seem far to bother her so soon after EJ had been born, but Nick also knew she didn't have anyone else at Sing Sing who might be willing to listen or who she felt comfortable talking to about something like this. Nick couldn't really remember leaving her cell or the walk from there to Rae's. Her mind had been racing with too many of the same thoughts and feelings she had been having lately, combined with the worry that Rae really might mind her just dropping in on her. So by the time she did reach Rae's door, she realized it was too late to turn around now, even if chickening out was almost winning the battle going on inside of her right now. You're not a chicken. Okay, maybe she was. But not about this, she had never been afraid of talking before. Fingering the key in her pocket, Nick weighed the options of using it. Rae had given it to her to use, but what if the other woman had company or what if Luke had George over? Knocking was just more polite, wasn't it? Deciding a combination of both might be her best course of action, Nick knocked on the door softly as she pushed it open just a crack. "Rae? Can I come in?" |
