There was that spark of friction between them, more than just sexual in nature, Noah thought. He'd told Bea the other day that he got along better with people who were feisty, and that seemed to be in every respect, friendship or friends-with-benefits-ship. He might not know Vienna that well, but he could already tell she was a constant challenge. That was fun in his opinion.
Noah's thoughts were only reinforced when she told him he'd only need his mouth if it was as skilled as his hands. "You got a point," he replied, not seeing the need to reiterate his own opinion of his skill set. She'd either agree or she wouldn't when the time came, and he was going to do his level best to make sure she agreed. He had a rare determination when it came to certain things, and this was one of them. He poked at his food a bit more, although eating had ceased to be foremost in his brain. If it had ever been, which was doubtful.
"Montana was all right," Noah said, then took another swig of water. "Wouldn't wanna live there anymore, but it was a nice place to grow up." Sure, once he was grown, he'd wanted to get away, experience the bigger world out there, but that didn't mean that he held no appreciation for the experiences he'd had as a child and a teenager. He'd sure as hell learned to shoot out there, and that was most likely why he was still alive now. He indeed had some idea of what Vienna's upbringing must have been like just from talking to her for a bit, but he didn't hold it against her. It took all kinds, and he imagined she'd taken some hard knocks along the way, just like everyone else.
Noah didn't take his eyes off of Vienna as she leaned over the small desk toward him, giving him that smile that said she knew exactly what she wanted and telling him to prove it. He didn't need to wait for an engraved invitation, because they both knew what this was about. He stood up from the bunk and reached for the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head and dropping it to the floor. After giving her a moment to take in what he'd uncovered, he approached and held out his hand for her to take.
