One does not expect things around them to go boom. Jess certainly did not. Sure, she might expect some gun fire, some yelling, but not boom. That generally follows after all the other sounds as a sign of last resort. But first it was the boom, then the ringing, and the yelling. Jess had not fully registered much else beyond a slight ring to her ears, but luckily she had been far enough away from the blast she wasn't injured. She stood there staring and luckily it didn't take her long to go from stunned, or 'deal with it' mode.
While perhaps the greatest concern was the gaping hole in the wall, her focus quickly turned to the girl on the ground. While it was a good thing she wasn't moving due to potential injuries, it was also unwise to remain unmoving in the area of an open wall. This was bad. It was likely they would have drawn the attention of any undead about.
As usual, putting her safety behind the safety of others she rushed in. "Are you okay? Did you hit your head?" Jess went into full on observation mode of the George. That was her name right? "We need to get you up and away from this hole." That was the first task at hand. "Are you able to get to your feet and walk, with assistance?" While she would rather not move her, there was no option otherwise.
