The children were dealt with now and Rae turned her attention to Silas completely. Sure, she'd been having fun tonight, playing games with the kids and breaking up their occasional spats, but adult conversation, or at least conversation with an adult, would be welcome for a change. “They're usually good, but give them a little bit of sugar and bam,” she mused. “Guess I'd better get used to that, though.”
Nodding her agreement, she chuckled. “That's true. Or trying to grab my ass or cussing up a storm.” She'd caught little Benny Decker saying a couple curses, but he'd been so sorry that it was hard to be mad at him. “When I was a kid, I used to eat enough candy to want to throw up, so... give them time,” she smirked. “They'll have a sugar hangover tomorrow.” She just wished that they could actually have real candy, and not the substitutes they'd made.
One side of her lip twitched into a bigger smile when he laughed and she looked down at herself when he commented on her own costume, feeling her smile go slightly sheepish when he told her it looked cute. “Oh. Juno,” she started. “It's from a movie back in like... 2010. Pregnant teenager, so I figured it was one of the only appropriate costume choices I had. I was going to dress as the sun. Put on a yellow dress and paint my stomach yellow. But I thought it'd be a little too cold for that. So Juno it was.” As it stood, she was a little too warm. And it was actually warm in here, but she didn't care. Juno seemed to be going over well enough.
Nodding her head in agreement—possibly a little too vehemently—she smiled. He was cute. She'd have to be stupid not to see that. Had a quirky little smile and a handsome face and a nice body. Rae found herself taking slight notice, despite how inappropriate it was. “That you do. I'd say you should dress like that more often, but I think people would think you were crazy, so... maybe not,” she joked.
“Ha!” she looked at the wig in her lap and nodded. “Well, for all you knew, it could've been one of those fake baby bellies, right? But nope. All real.” She gently patted her tummy and was greeted by a wiggling EJ. She chuckled and straightened her back up in response. He asked about the wig and she plopped it back on top of her head, amused at the blond strands of hair that fell out beneath it now. “I didn't, actually. Bea did,” she explained, glancing over at her friend on the other side of the room. “She helped me with this whole thing. I think we actually had it in the storeroom, though I don't honestly know why...” she mused, then shrugged.
Oh good. He was going to stay. Rae turned her head and smiled at him, before reaching for one of the sweet treats on the table beside her and handing one over to him. “So, you guys are here looking for that woman, right? Just in case?” she asked.
