Zach wasn't phased too much by the rolling of his baby sister's eyes. Sometimes he thought she might injure her eyesight if she did that too much, but it was something he wasn't about to say to her. Really, he could have thought of a much more vulgar mental image, but he'd let her think that one was pretty bad. "How exactly do you propose I make you brain bleach? and if you really think I owe you, will you take an IOU?"
"That's not surprising, not a lot of people know who she is." The doctor was quiet, so much so that Zach often times hadn't known how to take her. But he hadn't wanted her to go completely M.I.A. either, if he were more of a white knight he probably would have gone inquiring as to what was up with her - but he wasn't that good of a guy. Rory on the other hand, well, he'd had a better working relationship with her, he also just figured she was busy being a mom or something. "Hey now, our debates are intelligent and well thought out." And highly amusing, this much even Zach was aware of.
Oh god, why'd he go and give Maddie that idea? Sometimes he truly needed to learn when to keep his mouth shut. "Don't you dare, my hands are part of my livelihood." Couldn't exactly be a good medic if he was nursing an injured hand himself. Though, he didn't entirely believe Maddie would go through with anything. "I don't know, it might be overkill."
"Forgetful I could handle, but old, really Mads, you had to go there?" He gave her a mock-hurt look. Although she didn't admit to needing him around, her actions were clear enough in that she wasn't entirely on board with him not being there. "You're the one that mentioned weirdos being around this place. I'm only being a good big brother and worrying about your safety because of that." Which was exactly why he didn't struggle to get out of her grasp as she tugged him down the cell block. "Still think you want me around as a bodyguard, though." Zach had this habit of wanting to get the last word in on things, especially where his siblings were concerned.
