Complicated. That was the easiest way to describe things for Maddie right now. Between the constant argument between Maddie and Nick and the arguments that she was having with Maddie about Nick, plus the fact that maybe, she was kind of realizing that her feelings for Maddie were different than what she thought they were. Nothing seemed to be simple anymore and it was starting to get annoying.
Normally, this was one of the rare times that she and Christina would get along. They'd go out for ice cream and talk about what was bothering her, and by the end of the day, it wouldn't be bothering her anymore. But since she was by herself, the only person she'd been able to rely on was Luke.
She frowned, sitting in her bed in her and Maddie's cell and fiddling with her music mixer, messing with the song she and Luke had written that night. Being alone usually didn't bother her, but right now... it definitely was.
It was about then that she heard a knock, and instead of going to get it—it was probably someone for Maddie anyway, since she got way more visitors than Caitie did—she called out, “Maddie's not here. She'll be back later,” to the cell door, without even turning to look.
