Part of her couldn't even imagine what it was like to go searching for a sibling. Nick wouldn't have even known where to begin or have had the courage to do so. She wondered though if somewhere Jacob was doing this exact same thing, carrying around pictures of her, Benjamin and Levi, showing them to whoever would stop long enough to talk to him. That thought was comforting, even if it wasn't true, at least in that thought Jacob was still alive, It gave her hope, even if another, smaller voice, wanted to convince her otherwise.
"Who knows, maybe you won't," she replied with a slight shrug. "You don't strike me as the getting lost type." But what could five minutes with a person really tell you about them? Plus, if he was searching for his siblings getting lost probably wasn't something he was really worried about in the grand scheme of things.
Separated families were just common place now. Nick had to figure it would be more surprising to come across and entirely in tact family. In the five years since everything went to hell she had yet to come across that, though. So she wasn't going to hold her breath on that one. Most people just tried to live their lives, make it from day to day. Which Sing Sing made that easier than some places, it was warmer somehow, the people more welcoming and here Nick actually felt like she had people who cared about her. "It's not a problem," she waved off the thanks, after all five minutes out of her day to look at pictures really wasn't a huge inconvenience for her. "And that's probably a good plan, you might even want to make Leadership your next target for asking." They seemed to have their finger on the pulse of this place, which also meant they seemed to know who resided within the walls.
When Everett brought out the pictures it took Nick only a moment to look over each person. When her gaze fell on the last person in the picture her eyes went wide and a small gasp escaped her. "I know her," she brought her gaze up to meet Everett's as she pointed to the youngest girl in the picture. "Caitie lives here."
