Everett knew very little about this place so far except that yeah, it was really big. He'd barely gotten started wandering around, and if he let himself think about it, he might be daunted by the formidable task of trying to find someone specific here. But there wasn't anything else for him to do but try, and this girl didn't look far in age from either of his sisters. It was feasible that a younger person might notice someone closer to their own age than an older adult would. Or so he was hopefully telling himself, anyway.
"Not yet, no," he said of getting lost. "We'll see how it goes." Some of the places he'd been were even bigger than this one, and he'd managed. Somehow, it wasn't much of a consideration compared to his main objective.
When Nick said she knew how it sucked to be separated, Everett nodded. So many people were without their families and friends, so many didn't know if people they loved were dead or alive. It was a horrible way to live, but it became second nature. Sometimes he could ruminate for hours about how much the world sucked now, but that didn't get anything accomplished, did it? Onward. "Thanks," he said when she agreed to look at the photos. "I figure I'll be asking everyone I see. I know this is a big place." He pulled the photos out of his pocket and handed her the stack of three; the one on top was of the three of them, himself, Christina and Caitie. Christina had her fingers behind his head on one side of him, and Caitie was making a silly face, every bit of her spunkiness evident in her expression and posture.
