Noah wasn't really looking for a bestie. He'd tried that before and it hadn't worked out so hot; of course, it had probably been a mistake to let the friendship veer into the territory of fuck-buddy-slash-emotional support. Live and learn. It was nice to have people to converse with on occasion, though. As with anyone, there were some he liked better than others, some he could barely tolerate. Dominic hadn't been around for long enough for Noah to get much of an impression of him, really. He came across as a bit snide and argumentative on the network, but Noah could be that way himself, so he couldn't hold that against the guy.
Noah snorted at the guy's greeting to him. "It's all right, I'm not worried about your notoriety rubbing off on me," he said with a shrug. He didn't avoid people based on others' impressions of them. That reminded him too much of how many of his high school students had behaved back in the day, and he was a grown-ass man of thirty-three. Way too old for that shit, in other words.
He stretched his legs out and leaned back against the wall of the tower, himself. After contemplating his feet for a few moments, he crossed them at the ankles. There, perfect. "Gonna be too cold to do this much longer," he remarked. When in doubt, talk about the weather. At least it was something to start with. Noah wasn't about to start asking the guy if he really did have some kind of evil plan, for sure.
