Sad but true. “I'll take alive and crazy over dead any day.” It probably didn't need saying, but it was true. Especially after Kelley said that he was by himself. He frowned. The Grahams had taken him in like he was one of their own, so knowing that Kelley's wife was dead was disappointed. “When'd it happen?” he asked simply, knowing that Kelley'd know what he meant. If he answered vaguely again, Brandon would take the hint and let it go for now.
“So, this is pretty much the situation in here,” Brandon gestured vaguely to the area surrounding them. Now the dead grass, dead people and untended buildings that they'd grown used to in the city. No. Everything was taken care of here. Cut grass, lit buildings, a playground and covered-over pool in the distance... it felt like a little slice of the old life.
