"Fuck that," Brandon said, "you're tougher than any of those fucking infected asses even on your worst day, so don't give me that 'I'm old' bullshit," he added, the tiniest hint of a smile spreading across his face. "Or else I'll start wondering if you've gone soft in your old age and I'll have to give you twice as much shit as you gave me in the academy."
Despite his typical Brandon jibes, he gave the old man a one armed hug and quickly said, "It's good to see you," before letting him go.
He grabbed his key from his pocket and headed for the gate. "Hold this," he said, handing Kelley the flashlight, so he could use his good hand to reach into his pocket for the key to the front gate. "So, how'd you find your way here, anyway?" Not like the place was a secret anymore or anything, but still. "And where the fuck have you been the past few years?"
