Ellie didn't have nightmares. One minute her eyes were open, and the next she was opening them again -- that was what sleep was like when she managed it. Just an increment of time that was stolen from her by her own body, but of no real benefit to her mind.
She nodded against Evan's side when he agreed with her. Then she took a moment to think, lids heavy.
"I remember something better. I liked the feeling of falling away."
Sort of something similar to this, even -- her head was drooping, her greenish eyes closing more quickly than she could think to keep them open, until finally they were closed completely. Her body relaxed, her breathing slow against the fabric of his shirt. "Mm-hmm..."
