Leah normally didn’t pay much attention to the teenagers who occupied Sing Sing. The only tolerable teen she knew was George, and even that likability was questionable at times. Especially after the incident where George had called her Olivia. Leah couldn’t hold much resentment for Evan’s sister, though. At least George wasn’t a thief.
She’d been watching the girl for a few minutes, ever since the singing had started. If it were anyone else, Leah would’ve kept going to her destination, not bothering to stop. But it had been a while since she’d encountered the red-haired thief out and about. No one had any solid proof yet, but most people suspected that this particular teen was responsible for breaking into Evan’s room while they were away.
Leah doubted the jewelry would be returned unless the thief was caught red-handed with it. Which was why Leah wasn’t going to approach her. She would just observe, see if she noticed anything that looked like it belonged to someone else. For all she knew, the iPod had probably been taken from somebody else. There was a glint of some kind of necklace hanging around the girl’s neck. Leah was too far away to see what it was, but she was watching. Studying it every time the girl’s ridiculous dance brought it into view.
“If this is supposed to be a performance, it’s really lacking in something called talent.”
