“Maybe I should take a page out of your book and try coping that way,” she had her own ways of coping, granted most times it involved bottling up her true feelings on any situation and putting on a strong face to the rest of the world. Nick had always dealt with things that way, ever since she was little, so a habit that had taken years to form was hard to break.
Jumping off the counter she’d taken up using as a makeshift seat, Nick figured this was probably her cue to let Kori get back to work. “I’ll let you get back to that then, and at some point I’m sure I’ll figure out something I want for a costume and let you know what that might be,” she paused and nodded in agreement about the staying busy comment. “Yeah, it might be a coping mechanism, but it’s a proven one.” Some could say she used it herself, what with all the volunteering of help she did. “And now I should be getting out of your hair,” she said this as she began moving towards the exit of the seamstress shop. Though she stopped at the entrance and turned around one more time to address Kori. “Again thanks for being willing to organize this thing with me.”
