Kori was relieved to hear that Nick didn't think she was stupid. Too many people, including herself, thought too little of themselves. It came from being your own worst critic, Kori supposed.
"Sometimes being positive is all that you can hold onto. Pessimism isn't going to do anyone any good in a place like this. If you can't look on the bright side, you end up falling into the darkness and I'm hoping that maybe someday there'll be more light than dark and I'm holding out for that." There was no other way to describe it really. Positive thoughts were better than negative ones.
"We can do an annual Halloween party," she smiled. Again with positive thinking and not voicing her own thoughts that ran along the same lines as Nick's.
"I think steering away from Christmas might be an even better idea. Maybe focus more on New Years or something. Or winter in general like you said. But yeah, totally going to have a full Halloween notebook. We'll show Sing Sing the best Halloween yet," she murmured. She sure hoped that those words would ring true.
