Shrugging, Nick just smiled faintly. “Wasn’t really a hard thing to think up, honestly. I mean if I were their age I’d want a party, so it kind of seemed like an obvious thing to do for them,” her honesty was showing through as she answered. She wasn’t implying that everyone should of thought of this, just that she had. “We can hope, right? Even if it’s just for a few hours, maybe they can pretend like they don’t live in an abandon prison while avoiding being eaten by zombies.” She tried to pretend that that wasn’t the case sometimes, she had varying degrees of success with that.
Soulmate? Nick didn’t think people still spoke like that anymore, what with the world having kind of fallen apart most people seemed way more cycnical about things in general, she had just assumed romance had gone along with that. “Well, at least you’ve got him here with you. That has to help with the whole ‘world falling apart’ thing going on right now,” she didn’t really know if she’d ever have the kind of relationship Kori seemed to be talking about, currently she didn’t really expect it to happen to her.
Nick just nodded as Kori assured her that she’d get the current headcount and plan for extra kids beyond that. She had complete faith that the older girl would do just fine in making sure that they were covered supplies wise.
It was honestly a relief to have Kori helping her out with this whole harebrain idea, because Nick had a feeling if it had just been her spearheading this thing it would likely either have not happened or would have maybe been way more overwhelming a project than she could handle. “Sounds like a plan. I’ll let you know if anyone says anything ot me and we can get it written down in the notebook as well,” she hoped that people would want to be involved in this, but she also knew that some people were too self-absorbed to be involved. Oh well, it would be their loss if they decided not to take part in this.
“Sugar highs are way helpful in forgetting everything,” she marked with a laugh. “Or at least they’re helpful to me.” She was a sugar addict and unafraid to admit that little fact, maybe one day it would come back to bite her in the ass, but for right now she could eat as much junk as she wanted with very little effect to her body beyond the sugar high. “Oh I’m sure we could get some of the cooks to help out, I mean I’m sure Rae’ll offer,” maybe that was assuming too much, but she’d be surprised if the other woman didn’t offer to help. “I’m honestly really excited for this, it should be a nice escape from everything.”
