Not commenting was the easiest thing she could think of to keep her own worries from showing on her face or in her voice. Being scared wasn't going to help and Kori wanted to avoid being scared at all costs. "Just coming up with the idea was a lot of help. I'd been hoping to do something for the kids to help them feel a little less... confused and scared. I think this is just the ticket to make that happen.
"Well he was my fiance before all of this happened," she admitted, shrugging a little. "It's a very long and complicated story but he's more than just my boyfriend. At least to me. I mean I don't know if we'll ever be able to get married or anything like that, but he's just more important than a boyfriend. He's my soulmate." Which was exactly how Kori felt about Mike. There were no words to describe the love she had for the man and no matter how crazy it might have seemed to everyone from the outside.
"Exactly. People are showing up all the time so a decent amount of extra supplies will be the best option, I think. So yeah, I'll get the current headcount and plan for five or six more just in case. More is better than not enough." She didn't want to be short supplied after all.
"We can hope," Kori agreed with a nod, flashing another smile at Nick. "I'll keep brainstorming and writing things down and add to it as people give me some input when I post up the 'hey want to help out' post. The more people behind us, the better all of this will turn out I think," she said. She hoped that everyone would want to be included but there were always going to be people who didn't give a damn and wouldn't want to take part.
"Totally," she laughed. "I'll be looking forward to that sugar high. I'm sure that'll be even more of a reason for people to want to join in the festivities. I bet we can get some of the people who are good cooks to help out with food and stuff. Something else to brainstorm about," she smiled. "I really hope this turns out for us. it's an awesome idea and I can't wait to put it into action."
