"Trees and glass and all kinds of other plants." David smirked and nodded his head. "She's big enough to reach the lower branches without even trying, and when she gets up on her back legs, she can reach some of the middle ones. I bet mommy would barely be able to do that if she got on my shoulders," he added.
Smirking at Marigold's attempt at petting Mochrie, David nodded his agreement with the assessment about the bear. "Not a monster at all, is she?" he asked her seriously. He almost went on to explain that the only time she was ever scary was when she was scared, but since the trust was so tentative, he didn't dare.
"So what do you think?" he asked, watching as the bear stood back up and lifting Marigold so that she could pat her head. "Think you'll be more willing to come out here and visit more often?"
