The big penned monster dog no longer seemed to be one of Marigold’s fears. At least as long as she and David were standing nearby. The only way she’d know that the fear was completely gone was if the girl asked if she could take Mochrie home with him. She asked the same about every new cat and dog and other animal she was introduced to.
“Her eats trees?” Marigold asked, staring at the trees with wide eyes and an open mouth.
It was clear that Marigold was impressed with all this new information she was learning about the bear. How something so big could be so gentle. Leah expected to take her back home and hear Marigold talk of nothing but Mochrie for the next several days.
Following David’s instruction, Marigold pet the bear under the front leg, her fingers moving in more of a tickling motion than a scratching motion. The girl laughed when the bear’s leg twitched, seeming to react to being tickled. “Her’s cute,” she replied.
