"It's usually a pretty safe bet," David chuckled and smiled a little bit. "It's been awhile." He knew that Leah was busy with other things, especially now that she had Marigold back. That and she had a ton of other priorities.
Besides that, he knew that Leah wasn't exactly feeling well, so he tilted his head to the side and gave her a small, concerned smile. "How are you feeling, by the way? Better?"
Of course people had told Marigold that the bear was a monster. David frowned. People's ignorance, their willingness to cast the poor creature aside as an evil villain, bothered him sometimes. He glanced out the window at the little pen that Mochrie had taken to staying in and shook his head. "Of course they did," he said sadly. "A lot of people have been complaining about her lately, but thank god Evan's been helping keep her protected." David would be devastated if anything happened to her.
His smile returned when Leah told him that she wanted to get rid of her daughter's fear. He was glad to see someone doing some decent parenting around here, at least. "Well, I don't see why not."
But that left the question of how she wanted to go about it. Marigold wasn't there with her, so, "Maybe I can take her out of the pen and we can walk her to your building?" Or something like that. A lot of people got irritated when he walked the bear, but it should have told them something, the fact that he could walk her with a leash. "Or maybe we could go and get Marigold and bring her back here?"
