Somehow, despite the inner turmoil that raged through her, his words made her feel better. He had that way about him that he could just shift her mood entirely and make everything okay. She'd been putting off speaking to him about how she felt for what seemed like forever and in the end this was exactly what she should have done all along. She drew in a little breath and looked up at him as his forehead came to rest against her own.
A little smile started on her lips as his hand slid over her face and she closed the distance between their mouths to kiss him properly. It was about the only thing she could do that would convey exactly how much she loved him. Then. Now. Forever. That wasn't going to change. She could feel it in her bones. An ache that wasn't going to go away. An ache that she'd feel forever. The beautiful ache of true love.
She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him again, pulling back finally to look at him. "Glad we had this talk," she whispered, laughing lightly as she blinked away the last of her tears. "God I love you."
