The rocking helped soothe her a little and Kori let him hold her, needing that comfort. She didn't pull back, not even a little. She could smell him better this way, feel the warmth of his body against her own. She had been worried. More than worried really. Terrified was more of a descriptor really at least in this particular case.
"There was just so much time and I... I thought that I deserved losing you," she whispered. In a way she still believed that she deserved losing him after letting her parents die. "I don't wanna lose you. I just want everything to go back to the way it was for us. I want to know that you want to be with me. Really be with me." She didn't want him to feel obligated to stay in a relationship with her if he really didn't feel the same. But there he was saying that he did love her. That it wasn't going away.
She pulled back a little then, looking up at him and using one hand to wipe away the tears from her face. "I love you," she told him. "Never stopped. I want you to know that."
