Re: The Stones (and maybe any guests they bring along?)
Kori remained more or less oblivious that Brandon knew they weren't being truthful. She chose to remain that way it was easier to believe that he didn't know. It made things a little less awkward. In her mind anyway.
Taking her seat again Kori shared in Leah's amusement about half a second too late. Her thoughts having been elsewhere at first. It wasn't that Kori had wanted to put Spam out as the meat but it was all she'd been able to get. And while she wasn't exactly picky about what she ate anymore she just couldn't look at or think of eating it right now. It was bad enough she felt like she smelled like the stuff as it was.
"I would have left it out but Thanksgiving sort of requires a meat of some kind." She explained with an apologetic shrug at both of them. She never liked the processed can of meat herself but when the ladies in the kitchen were being stuck up she-bitches Kori took what she could get away with when they were watching the pantry like a hawk. She'd pay them back for the bit of thievery she'd resorted to, but she'd much rather the majority of this awkwardness wasn't public to the rest of the people in the safehouse.
She picked at her vegetables a bit. Stabbing the carrot cubes with her fork and looking at the orange line on the tine before eating it. Silently she was congratulating herself on turning this meal into one of the awkwardest in the last half decade. But at least it didn't involve dishes of food being thrown... yet. That might come later.
"She said she would be here. It's possible she got distracted." She said with sigh. She wanted every one together. It wasn't that much to ask for. Just a single block of time to see their faces and make sure they hadn't been maimed and hadn't told her before they went back to doing whatever they did the rest of the year.
