It was her turn to shrug. “I guess.” She didn’t do a whole lot of hoarding for other people, mostly because she’d been exposed to too many thieves and didn’t want to go to all the looting trouble for nothing. Not everyone had stuff that other people didn’t bother. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. Especially since everyone’s friends with the Stripper.” Maddie had never attended a real high school, but her brother had taken her to sporting events. The popular kids had always been so obnoxious.
She paused when she realized that her words had been interpreted as a compliment. It hadn’t been intentional at all. Just an observation. Brandon was hot and kids tended to pay more attention to a teacher who wasn’t their regular teacher. She knew that, at least. “Definitely an insult to the kids,” she said with a nod.
Maddie held up a finger to make a point. “At least I’m warning you ahead of time that something I say might eventually be a lie?”
The real challenge of the Penis Game was controlling your laughter long enough to say the word. Maddie wasn’t doing a very good job of that. They were nearing the end of the line now, close enough to see the food but not near enough to be served yet. The only important part was being close enough to more people to bother them with her next turn. This time phrased as a question, “Penis?”
