Brandon laughed. "I'll be sure to remember that..." he paused, trailing off. "Well, that and the parade of happy people who lack senses of humor." He responded with his own smirk, shrugging his good shoulder. Most of the people he liked, aside from her, fell into that particular category, because none of them thought she was all that funny, but that was another point entirely.
Whether or not Brandon would be here if he wasn't injured was a reasonably good question. He enjoyed Maddie's company, but if he wasn't hurt, he'd probably be up in one of the guard towers sniping. Still by himself. Not with Silas or Mike or anyone else, really. It sucked when his normal routine was fucked up so heavily. "It's been a long ass time since I've been this fucking bored. Always had something to shoot or whatever else." It probably wasn't healthy that shooting things was what he defaulted to, but he didn't care.
Snorting a laugh, Brandon nodded his chin. "Ever wonder if that's the real story behind O'Brien's going blind?" he asked, knowing it would probably scar her. "Taisce not giving it up?" A little crass, maybe. But it was Brandon, so it shouldn't have been a surprise.
"Uh huh," Brandon's smirk showed her that he knew that she was probably as bored as he was. Though the reasons were as different as could be. He had a hunch that Maddie was the type who didn't like to be alone, and this whole thing sort of confirmed it. "Well, thanks for keeping me company, then."
Doing other stuff. Brandon nodded his understanding. He was a little more okay with solitude than she was, but that didn't mean he was a big fan of it. "Who needs them anyway?" he asked, trying to be comforting. He used to say that when Kori got stood up or left behind, but it didn't have a lot of effect then, and he didn't suspect it would now. "Now it's just you and me and a scene to make in the cafeteria. If you ask me, that's better than hanging out with your merry band of band."
