"Fuck yeah, Sing sing Olympics," Brandon said, as though it was a very serious issue and it was offensive that she didn't see it that way. He saw the opening, the slight dim in annoyance, and decided to take the chance to try and further cheer her up. "What, you wouldn't want to show off for the whole compound? Like you did at the party?" His grin grew, knowing that the mention of the band would brighten her spirits. "Show those fuckers what you're made of?"
She had him there. Brandon chuckled a little bit and shrugged his head in lieu of shrugging his shoulder. "Nah, don't have to, but I don't see much better shit out there to do." He pondered tacking on with a fucked up shoulder, but he decided to let her have the compliment instead. He snorted a laugh at her suggested activity. "I could, but then I'd be as blind as our security guy and I kinda like my eyesight." He smirked.
It wasn't so much that age was an issue for Brandon. Not really, anyway. Yeah, she was younger than him, but he wasn't the most mature person, so that more that made up for it. It was other people. He was on the wrong side of the slope to thirty, and she was probably no older than twenty-one—he didn't even know for sure—and people would decry the shit out of it. Call him a cradle robber or whatever. It wasn't really even that bad. Wasn't like he was fifty and she was eighteen or anything. That would've been fucked up.
Besides. She probably had a fuckton of dudes her age after her. Why wouldn't she? She was an awesome chick with a major sense of humor, who knew how to have fun. If none of the dudes her age were into her, then there was a serious problem with all of them, simple as that. So, it wasn't like she'd want someone like Brandon into her.
"Better than sitting there by yourself, anyway." From what he'd seen of her, she hadn't liked being alone. Maybe he was assuming too much, but he liked to think that he had her pretty well pegged. That she didn't like too much alone time. He pushed off from the tree and waited for her, before starting in the direction of the cafeteria. "So, where's the rest of your merry band of... your merry band?" he asked with a chuckle.
