It wasn't too big of a stretch to reason out why; who was going to remember something so trivial as a birthday when people kept turning up dead every few days. Not that Dany's birthday was trivial, but next to a life-threatening situation like the one they'd faced in August, birthdays were trumped by continued survival. And for that she felt awful about.
At the very least, she had cake to offer in an attempt for forgiveness. It wasn't as if her birthday had gone forgotten and both Evan and Dany knew how much she loved her birthday. The only thing she didn't have was a legitimate present, she hadn't quite finished it yet.
She paused at the door, pity showing on her features at Evan's tardiness. She would be surprised if he did show, she was all too aware just how emotionally complicated things were for him right now. Although, she sort of saw Leah's side of things a bit better than Evan's which was either proof of how well she related to the older woman or that the Zombie Apocalypse had greatly affected her world view.
She knocked once finally and entered the room. "Happy Birthday Dany." She said with a smile entirely unfazed by his focus on tuning his new guitar.
