WHO: Caleb and Father Thorne WHAT: Meeting in the cafeteria. WHEN: Early morning, August 23rd WHERE: Cafeteria RATING: I’m gonna say low STATUS: In progress.
It was odd and almost awkward to have the cafeteria be so silent, a needle would sound like a violent interruption. It was early, the sun hardly rising and leaking into the prison. Caleb couldn’t sleep, memories of the past taunting him, making him wish that he could go back in time. But it was no use. Being ignorant and pretending that the past never happened almost seemed like a luxury Caleb should have considered. The time was now and that was all that mattered. His friends were gone and perhaps part of him was missing as well.
Though his stomach rumbled a bit, Caleb didn’t feel like eating. He was pleased to see that someone had left out some green tea which still steamed, its heat felt from somewhat far away. He poured himself a cup and grazed his eyes over the dead silent cafeteria. It took a moment, but he saw an older gentleman keeping to himself (or so it seemed.) Though there were many places to sit, he stood in front of the gentleman who seemed vaguely familiar and gave a soft smile. “You mind if I sit here?”
