“I know.” She understood, she felt the same way when Evan had a panic attack. It hadn’t been anywhere near as scary as what Luke must be going through, but at least she could somewhat understand his emotional state.
It was just difficult to be there, she didn’t know how to do this. How to make it less scary for him or how to make it clear she wanted to fix what was wrong between them. As much as she didn’t care for O’Brien, she didn’t like seeing how his injuries strained Luke. She just wanted the old guy to wake up and be better so that Luke wouldn’t have to worry anymore.
“You’ve been mine since day one Nomad even though I was something of a brat.” It had been ages since she’d last used that nickname, somehow in that moment it seemed the most fitting one of the several she had for him. Sure back then she spent more time going on about Miles or how nuts Evan made her but even she would have to be completely blind to not realize there was something between them from that first stupid name debate.
