The very sound of his garbled laugh pulled at her heartstrings. Once they were in the hall she hugged him arms around his neck and up on her toes. Her ankle was making complaints but it was worth the pain if it helped Luke even the slightest.
“I don’t know Luke. We just have to wait for him to wake up I guess.” There wasn’t much else they could do at this point. Hope was an option but she wasn’t sure if suggesting that would be welcome. Normally he’d scoff, but right now…George had never seen him like this.
Letting go, she slide her hand into his. “I’ll always come when you need me.” She murmured giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
