Well I'll never be a stranger and I'll never be alone, Whenever we're together, that's my home
Maybe this isn’t such a good idea, George kept thinking as she made her way to the infirmary. What she was thinking when she said she wanted to be there hovering over her boyfriends unconscious uncle? She didn’t have the slightest clue. All she knew was that this was not the time to keep avoiding Luke over something as idiotic as a situational misunderstanding. Just being there in mute support couldn’t kill them. It must rough knowing that your only family might be blind when they finally woke up.
But if nothing else she could at least make sure that Luke was still taking care of himself. Maybe start apologizing for going off the deep end on him almost a week ago. It depended on his mood, which she was banking on being less than fabulous given the circumstances and she could understand that. She just wasn’t going to have any clue how to handle the situation.
Not that she had much more time to ponder that as she entered the infirmary and found the room the medical people had given O’Brien during his recovery. Taking a deep breath, she slipped beyond the curtain and placed a hand gently on Luke’s shoulder to let him know she was there. She didn’t want to break the silence for fear that she might wake the whole room.
