WHO: Evan and Leah
WHAT: Evan's stressed, but he comes home to a surprise date with Leah!
WHERE: The roof of the administrative building.
WHEN: 08/23, evening :: forward-dated
RATING: Medium, maybe?
Of all the things Evan expected himself to be doing in this compound, working security wasn't one of them. He didn't mind, not really, anyway. After all, O'Brien and Taisce were out of commission for who knew how long and their security was already stretched somewhat thin, and it was his job as someone leading the compound to step in when needed, but it was exhausting. There wasn't really that much "security" that they needed right now, though. Most everyone was still too relieved by the fact that the killer had been caught to cause too much trouble, and anything that was too trouble-like was handled by the more "seasoned" security folks, like Mike and Brandon. He'd just finished his rounds; Brandon had let him have the area around the administrative building, so he hadn't had to go too far, but after a day of trying to clean up the mess of concerns that Lily had left behind, it was just another thing to tack on to Evan's exhaustion and stresses. But he was done for the day now. And on his way back home. The apartment was a little bit emptier now; the other Stone siblings and his own siblings were gone, and it was nice, but strange, to get back to how things used to be. He stood outside the door for a second, a little smile on his face as he reached for the knob, prepared for Marigold to come running up and hug him. That was something pleasant he'd come to get used to over the past couple months. When he opened the door, though, there was nothing. He supposed he shouldn't have been terribly alarmed, because now they didn't have to stay at home all the time, but he'd gotten used to having them there now, so it was odd to come home to a seemingly empty apartment. He blinked and looked around, flipping the light on. "Anyone home?" |
