After a few minutes of just laying there, quietly thinking to himself, he eventually noticed that Taisce's thumb had slowed to a stop, and he moved a little bit to lean up from the pillow.
"Taisce?" he made sure to keep his voice at a whisper, "are you sleep?" when she didn't respond, he smiled a bit and laid his head back against the pillow. If he had thought about it, or been able to see the way she was laying half in the chair and half on the bed, he would have suggested she either lean back in the chair, or join him on the bed. You know. So she wouldn't be all uncomfortable and achy when she woke up. But she'd have to forgive him for not thinking about things like that at the moment.
Gently bringing her hand up to his lips, he brushed a kiss against her fingers, before lowering it back down. Though he kept hold of her hand, and was somewhat hugging her arm, and decided to get some more rest, himself. It'd be easy. He was already on who knows what kind of painkillers. He'd be out in no time... And he'd be safe enough with Taisce close by.
