Taisce Moore is a knight with a shining M4. (taisce) wrote in immune_ic,
Taisce was silent for a long moment. He'd leaned in and was hugging her now. She let her arms drop around him and return it, still absentmindedly stroking at the hair on the back of his head. She probably smelled like dirt, blood, and sweat. She made the mental note to get a shower when Luke or someone came by. She wasn't about to leave O'Brien alone. She was afraid that if he left someone trustworthy's sight that something horrible would happen. Irrational thoughts. But they were there. Came with the entire Taisce package.
"Well, I can only give you things from my perspective. Naturally," her voice was as calm as it could be given the amount of shock and trauma she, herself, was dealing with. Occasionally it would waiver-- a lump forming in her throat. She'd fight back the urge to cry though. She was going to be the strong one right now. Someone had to be. She kept telling herself that, but she wasn't quite sure she believed herself.
"I was in the chapel, helping out like you'd asked. And the next thing I know you're M.I.A. and it's all chaos as everyone's trying to find you and that psychotic bitch," she wrapped her arms loosely around his neck, forearms resting gently on his shoulders. "Next thing I know someone's saying something about the lab, and I bolted. I think Mike tried to stop me, but I wasn't listening to him by that point."
She moved to look down at him a bit, and let out half a laugh-- a quick rush of air from her lungs really. "I guess I've got a bit of a one track mind when I set out on a mission." Her heart had begun to pick up the pace by that point. Still dealing with the shock from the whole situation, recalling it raised the terror again. But she knew that O'Brien deserved to know what happened to him. Even if it was only what she had witnessed.
"When I got there, she had you in a chair. Cuffed," and that was when the tears had started to take hold, and she moved to hold him just a bit closer. "And you were covered in blood, and..." She had to stop, attempting to calm herself down. The tears were rolling down her cheeks now, and she was on the verge of sobbing.
She reached up to wipe the tears away and took a few deep breaths. "I thought you were dead."
