Eli, Rae, NPC's (Marga?)
Of the five years she'd been running around and doing her Immune thing, Rae had never seen anything like this. She'd run around in the infected that was New York City since she'd been bitten and never once had she seen someone change; never once had she seen such pandemonium break so quickly.
She'd been in the vicinity of the woman when she reanimated and God she never wanted to see anything like that again. For a split second, it had felt like hope… hope that she hadn't died; hope that everything could be that redefined okay that they'd found in this little community of a safehouse. Now, though, with the wall smashed open and the infected rushing into the room in droves, and a thick air of panic surrounding everyone in the Carnegie safehouse, all Rae could do was try and stay calm. She was good at it, after all. Staying calm when everyone else was losing their mind was her forte, but this… was making it hard.
"Rae! Quick, come on!" Aaron shouted. Somehow, the boy was a few steps ahead of Rae, and even more surprisingly, he was somehow less stunned than she was. While she stared at the sudden in-pouring of infected as they completely took over what had been her home for the past two years, Aaron started with what Rae usually did and took charge, making sure their little crew evacuated quickly.
But hearing the teenager's voice snapped her out of it, and instantly she grabbed her AK and took over her usual job, making sure their usual group was all safe and accounted for. Maybe it was a little small-minded of her to just pay attention to a small group, but there was only so much she could do, and her very first priority was to make sure that they all made it out safe.
Aaron, Miriam, Eli and her mom were all close by, and she could see Marga too, but… "Mom! Hey, mom, where's dad?" she called out to her mom.
Mary-Ellen cocked her head and looked at Rae in surprise, then looked to where she expected Andreas to be. "He was right here a minute ago," she spoke in panic, turning to where their usual bed station was to look for Andreas, but he wasn't there either. "Andreas? Andy!"
"Dad?" Rae called out, and made a move to look for him.
Mary-Ellen grabbed hold of Rae's arm and shook her head no. "Start heading for the exit, okay? I'll look for your father and meet you at the front," she commanded, and narrowed her eyes at Rae when she prepared to object. "These people need you, Rae Astrid. Get them out of here. Now! I'll be fine, I promise."
Shaking off the surprise at her mother's snap, Rae nodded her head and turned to the others. "Come on! We'll meet her outside!" she reaffirmed. If anyone could make it out of this situation (and save her dad), it was her mom.
